Meet the Team
Kacia Tolsma is 4VI’s Director of Sustainability. She is responsible for guiding 4VI’s strategic climate change and sustainability planning portfolios.
Tolsma is a strategic planner specializing in integrated climate action planning and policy development. She holds a Master’s Degree in Resource and Environmental Management with a Planning Designation from Simon Fraser University and conducted her thesis on applying nature-based solutions and green infrastructure in Metro Vancouver.
Kacia has in-depth knowledge of low carbon resilience climate planning and has developed numerous resources and plans, including an online climate action guide for elected officials and municipal staff in Alberta, a strategic Climate Action Roadmap for the City of Maple Ridge, and the City of Colwood’s LCR Climate Action Plan. She also spearheaded the development of the integrated Climate Action Report Card for Transition Salt Spring, devising indicators and metrics to monitor progress towards the 2021 Climate Action Plan.
Kacia is a Candidate Registered Professional Planner with the Canadian Institute of Planners and a member of the Planning Institute of British Columbia. Based on Salt Spring Island, BC, Kacia is committed to advancing sustainability and resilience efforts within the local community and beyond.
