Meet the Team

Steve Thompson is Vice President, Operations & Finance with 4VI. His role is to ensure that 4VI’s projects operate on budget, and that up-to-date, accurate financial information is readily available so teams can make wise spending decisions. Another aspect of his role is to develop strategic financial practices that will help 4VI achieve its goals of becoming a thriving social enterprise.

Thompson was born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia. He attended Camosun College while earning his BBA in accounting. After completing his degree, he moved to Nanaimo to article with MNP and attain his CPA designation.

Since leaving public practice, he has worked in the non-profit sector with local charities as a director of finance. Thompson most recently held this role with the Connective Support Society Nanaimo (formerly Nanaimo Region John Howard Society) and Vancouver Island Mental Health Society.

He joined the 4VI team because of the organization’s inspiring mission, vision and commitments to sustainability. A lifelong resident of Vancouver Island, he is proud to hold a role where giving back to the region and supporting the environment are part of each day.

Thompson and his wife are thrilled to be new parents. He loves spending time with his family and enjoys the outdoors in a variety of ways from soccer and slowpitch to hiking, kayaking, and fishing.
