A Culture of Learning: New Work-Integrated Learning project with RRU
To reinforce a culture of learning, collaboration, and mentorship, 4VI is working with Royal Roads University and the West Shore Chamber of Comerce on an initiative to engage local employers and students in structured dialogue and academic work-integrated learning(WIL) initiative.
Through symposiums and career panels, employers will first discuss the emerging opportunities and barriers arising from Canada’s transition to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. RRU will then work with each employer individually to find unique fits and opportunities to engage with targeted student groups.
Royal Roads University will develop a comprehensive WIL framework to ensure that all students equal access to opportunities and support services. These opportunities may include collaborative work with employers through co-op or internship positions, short-term fieldwork opportunities, community services learning, industry events or symposiums, and research projects, as applicable to their course work and career paths.
Our goal is to inspire a new generation of diverse tourism leaders to actively connect with their community and benefit from the valuable knowledge shared by industry experts.
